Die regionalen Biobauern liefern bereits in den frühen Morgen stunden ihre Produkte aus dem Mainzer Umland an NOVUM – Das Gemüseabo. Der Direkt verkauf birgt viele Vorteile: Eine kurze Liefer kette spart Transport kosten, lange Transport wege und schont damit die Umwelt. Gleichzeitig werden maximale Frische und die hervor ragende Qualität der Produkte garantiert. Die Produkte haben damit auch eine längere Lebens dauer – Weg werfen wird vorgebeugt. Außerdem werden bereits hier jede Menge Rohstoffe einge spart, denn das meiste Obst und Gemüse ist bei Lieferung unverpackt. Die ersten Mitar beiter:innen kommen an ihre Arbeitsplätze und beginnen an einer der fünf Pack stationen mit der individuellen Zusammen stellung der FrischeKisten. Jedes einzelne Produkt wird überprüft, abgewogen und mit viel Sorgfalt in die einzelnen Kisten gepackt. Zum Thema VerpackungBei der Verpackung gilt: so wenig wie möglich aber so viel wie nötig. Aber neben aller Kritik schützt Plastik Lebensmittel wie kein anderes Material vor mechanischen Einflüssen, Keimen sowie Beschä digungen und verlängert damit die Lebens dauer der Produkte.
