On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, the election assembly of the Community of Interior Designers (Zajednica dizajnera interijera ZADIN) was held in Zagreb, Croatia. The Communitys focus is on joint growth, exchange of experiences, talent development, and promotion of interior design in Croatia and worldwide. The activity of the Community of Interior Designers is international. In the first few years, the focus will be on Croatia and neighboring countries Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and Macedonia. In this way, the Community of Interior Designers (ZADIN) will work in an organized manner to contribute to the development of the interior design industry in the region and beyond. Drago Veselčić, president of the Croatian Interiors Association, in a brief presentation of the Association, emphasized that the idea of founding the Community of Interior Designers came through consultations with representatives of the creative sector and providers of products and services for interior and exterior decoration, primarily from Croatian furniture manufacturers. Therefore, one of the essential goals of the initiative is to connect the production sector and suppliers of services and goods, primarily furniture, with interior designers, institutions, and the media to jointly promote the profession of interior and exterior designers. What we will especially insist on are workshops and education for interior designers that lead to the development of local production. Fani Car: The Community of Interior Designers will provide support, including legal and technical advice, to be proactive and help members. We want to engage domestic furniture and equipment manufacturing industries through cooperation and networking and grow together through innovative projects. Maja Lončar: The Community of Interior Designers, which is much needed, will help the profession to overcome a number of challenges that it faces every day, whether it is digitalization, legal issues, or simply cooperation on multiple levels. Lidija Marošević: Education is the most important in every vocation, including ours, and it starts when people start thinking about their future occupation and never stops. We will work together to spread and transfer knowledge because only then is it valuable. Nevenka Kršilović: The Committee has the task of advising the membership on important legal matters such as, for example, the new Law on Intellectual Property which goes in hand with the status of interior designers, various disputes and the way in which these legal issues related to business are resolved or avoided. Archi-living.com – the Media Partner of the Community Danica Maričić, presenting the web magazine www.archi-living.com, announced strong cooperation and maximum engagement in media promotion of the Community and informing the public about the role of interior design in creating a functional and attractive home and office. Sanja Dujić: We will work on intensive and inspiring international cooperation of interior designers, architects, and all community members with colleagues and industrial partners on many international markets. Monika Kordić: The great opportunities provided by the funds and turning in the direction of sustainability will be the main task of this Committee. Consultations and assistance in creating projects and fulfilling tender conditions will greatly increase the chances of Community members to obtain much-needed financial resources for business development. Ada Kezić: Through our versatile involvement, the Community will become a powerful platform and hub for acquiring knowledge, experience, new business acquaintances, and new business opportunities. HoReCa Zadar and Design District The presentation of the Community at the events HoReCa Zadar (from October 20 to 22) and Design District (in Rovinj from November 23 to 25) has been announced in addition to traditional professional conferences with current topics of sustainable spaces.
